The Role

As the Senior Asset Manager, (Mechanical) Project Development, you’ll be responsible for developing asset renewal and optimisation capital projects across the Sewerage Mechanical & Process asset base including;

  • Investigation, options assessment, and business case development
  • Development of project Functional Requirements
  • Facilitation and oversight of engineering feasibility options & design assignments
  • Development of costing and scheduling for projects
  • Identification of project risks, opportunities and benefits
  • Supporting project delivery with asset management technical knowledge through to acceptance of completion of works.

This role will involve projects from $40k to $40M in value and extend across Melbourne Water’s Sewerage Asset portfolio including Eastern and Western Treatment Plants and major Pumping Stations.

*Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract, 4 days per week, with other arrangements possible*

Your Skills and Experience

  • Experience and knowledge of project planning, management and business case preparation
  • Ability to critically explore and analyse solution options, influence decision making and provide guidance.
  • Detailed knowledge of treatment plant assets including pumps, valves, vessels, and instrumentation.
  • Proven history of performance as a collaborative team member, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to prioritise and perform complex technical work with limited supervision and exercise professional judgement.
  • Strong time management skills and a history of developing deliverables in tight timeframes.

Your ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is required together with a qualification in Mechanical or Process Engineering.
