The Role

This full time role is based at our Eastern Treatment Plant (ETP) in Bangholme. As the Area Lead, Process & Plant Improvement you’ll be responsible for initiating and driving improvements which deliver increased performance with respect to reliable sewage treatment and recycled water services, environmental and safety performance, community and customer expectations and reduced operational expenditure.

Within this role you will ensure compliance with all Melbourne Water systems, policies and procedures and specifically Occupational Health and Safety, Environment, Product Quality Management Systems. Your extensive experience and qualifications as a Process Engineer will see you succeed within this role.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge and experience of principles of wastewater and recycled water production treatment processes desirable
  • Ability to draw on industry knowledge and other industry resources, for example by conducting independent literature reviews and through established industry networks
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge and exercise judgement into decision making processes
  • Proven people management experience, and the ability to  provide leadership to technical and non-technical professionals
  • Experience with control systems (such as PCS7)
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality reports and procedures. Well-developed presentation skills
  • Outstanding analytical skills and experience with setting operational benchmarks and KPIs

Your ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is required together with a Tertiary qualification in Process Engineering, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
