About the Role

This is a part time (.8) fixed term 18 moth opportunity, reporting to the Manager Service Enablement Catchments and Land, this is a pivotal role within the Service Enablement Catchment and Land team. As the Senior Asset Manager, you will be responsible for managing Melbourne’s forested drinking water supply catchments and Melbourne Water owned land to protect and enhance Melbourne’s drinking water quality and supply and meet our obligations as one of Victoria’s largest landowners, including:

  • Capital and maintenance program development and delivery
  • Asset renewal and optimisation of business cases and functional requirements
  • Asset registration, handover and condition assessments in accordance with relevant guidelines and procedures
  • Delivery and optimisation of asset management regimes to ensure levels of service are met
  • Financial management of opex and capex budgets and forecasting
  • External service provider contract and budget management in accordance with procurement and contract management guidelines
  • Build and maintain positive customer and stakeholder relationships particularly with Parks Victoria, DEECA and internal MW stakeholders

About you:

  • Demonstrated asset management experience relevant to natural assets (e.g. catchments, forests, waterways) or civil assets relevant to public land (e.g. road, bridges, culverts, firefighting assets)
  • Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following: public land management, catchment management, natural resource management/forestry, bushfire preparedness or response (desirable)
  • Experience in working in senior roles in high performing teams
  • Experience in developing effective networks in a diverse and complex multiagency delivery environment
  • Extensive coordination, prioritisation and time management skills to deliver on long-term objectives while managing day-to-day challenges within tight timeframes and work unsupervised
