This role sits at the centre of program operations and is responsible for the end to end coordination t of education programs, site tours, visitation experiences and events across multiple Melbourne Water sites and locations. It combines people leadership, program and event operations, logistics, stakeholder engagement, communications, budget management and customer experience improvement.

The Water Operations Centre Operator will play a critical role in the real time operation of Melbourne’s water supply network.  You will monitor and control water transfer, respond to operational incidents, support emergency response activities, coordinate stakeholders, validate operational data and ensure compliance with service environmental and regulatory obligations.

Lead the planning, development and optimisation of service programs, ensuring Melbourne Water maintains a fit-for-purpose portfolio that effectively delivers agreed service outcomes and strategic objectives.

Drive asset strategies, investment programs, and risk-based decisions to optimise water and sewerage performance outcomes.

The role will play a vital role in supporting reconciliation outcomes, including oversight of initiatives such as the Reconciliation Action Plan, Walking Country Together Leaders Forum and Cultural Advisory Group. With a key focus on collaborating with people, building trusted relationships across internal teams, community stakeholders, external partners, and First Peoples programs

This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving Melbourne Water’s heritage management, and implementation of major river and waterway strategic programs, with a strong focus on meaningful and impactful Traditional Owner engagement
