In Melbourne, water is essential to our way of life.
As caretakers for Melbourne’s water cycle, we care for water, life, and land throughout Melbourne: both its people and its biodiversity.
Each time you drink from the tap, flush a toilet, run through a backyard sprinkler, or kayak down the Yarra we’re there. Primed and ready, quietly delivering some of the world’s cleanest water for over five million residents and wildlife that call Melbourne home, just as we have for over 130 years.
If you value making it count, diving in with curiosity, and doing what’s right, you're in the right place.
As a Business Analyst within our Business Transformation and Effectiveness Team, you’ll play a critical role in driving enterprise-wide improvement and unlocking opportunities that make our organisation more effective, efficient, and customer-focused.
This is not an IT Business Analyst role, instead, you’ll partner closely with business leaders to understand how we operate, identify opportunities, and help shape improvements that influence the whole operating model. In this role you will:
Support the delivery of improvements required to achieve the organisations strategic intent, at a team and enterprise level.
Encourage the development of improvement capability within business.
Build influential working relationships with subject matter experts from across the organisation to support the achievement of improvements.
Champion program and change management practices
Constructively challenge the status quo and inspire new thinking.
This is not an IT Business Analyst role — it focuses on business improvement, Enterprise performance, and organisational transformation rather than systems analysis or technical solution design.
Experience in the analysis and delivery of continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience gained from contributing to a business transformation or continuous improvement program.
You must be comfortable in visualization tools such as PowerBI to create compelling visual representations of data to stakeholders, telling a story that drives decision making.
High level of analytical, research and problem-solving skills to provide value adding solutions and recommendations.
An understanding of the drivers and levers for delivering value with the ability to engage and influence outcomes at a Senior level.
Experience delivering outcomes in ambiguous and complex environments.
The ideal candidate is a strategic, peoplefocused Business Analyst who understands how organisations operate and can spot opportunities that drive meaningful improvement. It is one who has demonstrated experience in building strong relationships, thrives in complexity, and brings a curious, proactive mindset that inspires change.
