Who We Are

In Melbourne, water is essential to our way of life.

As caretakers for Melbourne’s water cycle, we care for water, life and land throughout Melbourne: both its people and its biodiversity.

Each time you drink from the tap, flush a toilet or kayak down the Yarra, we’re there. Primed and ready, quietly delivering some of the world’s cleanest water for over five million residents and wildlife that call Melbourne home, just as we have for over 130 years.

If you value making it count, diving in with curiosity, and doing what’s right, you're in the right place.

About The Role

You’ll strengthen how Melbourne’s essential services are planned and delivered, by developing and maintaining job plans and job plan library, reviewing work packages, and uplifting work campaigns. Along the way, you’ll grow your expertise across electrical, mechanical and civil works, supported by a collaborative team that values learning and shared outcomes.

You’ll develop, review and maintain high quality job plans that enable safe, efficient delivery across the Service Delivery maintenance program. You’ll bring structure to scope, cost, time and risk so crews can do great work, first time. You will also

  • Audit job plans to ensure accurate cost estimates and clear, safe scopes of work.
  • Develop practical work packages covering resourcing, timeframes, quality, environmental and safety requirements.
  • Work with Service Asset Lifecycle (SAL) initiators, Portfolio Managers, Reliability Specialist and Process Engineers to plan work and support effective delivery.
  • Maintain strong planning data in Maximo, identifying risks and efficiencies, and contributing to a consistent job plan library.

About You

You’re a practical planner who enjoys turning complex field work into clear, safe, deliverable plans. You’re comfortable in the detail, and you like working with people to get the right outcome.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong maintenance delivery background with experience in scope development and estimating.
  • Knowledge across Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Asset Management practices and delivery methodologies.
  • Skill in risk identification and mitigation, with a customer‑focused, continuous improvement mindset.
  • Confidence communicating with diverse stakeholders and the ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Trade or certificate qualification (essential).
  • Construction Induction Card (desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning, estimation and delivery of asset maintenance and reliability works.
  • Experience as a Technical Writer (desirable).
  • Victorian Driver’s Licence, Criminal Records Check and Medical Assessment
  • Obtain AusCheck Clearance. (please see important information below*)

If you’re currently working as a Maintenance Planner, Asset Maintenance Planner, Maintenance & Reliability Planner or similar, this role offers the chance to deepen your impact while broadening your exposure.
