In Melbourne, water is essential to our way of life.
As caretakers for Melbourne’s water cycle, we care for water, life and land throughout Melbourne: both its people and its biodiversity.
Each time you drink from the tap, flush a toilet or kayak down the Yarra, we’re there. Primed and ready, quietly delivering some of the world’s cleanest water for over five million residents and wildlife that call Melbourne home, just as we have for over 130 years.
If you value making it count, diving in with curiosity, and doing what’s right, you're in the right place.
As a Water Operations Centre Operator, you will play a critical role in the real time operation of Melbourne’s water supply network. You will monitor and control water transfer, respond to operational incidents, support emergency response activities, coordinate stakeholders, validate operational data and ensure compliance with service environmental and regulatory obligations. Decisions made in this role directly influence water supply reliability for the Melbourne community.
The Water Operations Centre operates seven days per week between 7:30am and 5:00pm. Operators participate in a rotating roster than includes approximately one weekend shift in every five week cycle.
You are a proactive and analytical operator who enjoys working in a technical environment where your decisions have real world impact. You can remain calm under pressure, confidently interpret operational information and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
