About The Role

Reporting to the Head of Business Transformation & Effectiveness, we have an exciting two-year fixed-term opportunity for an experienced Program Manager to lead the Maintenance workstream within Melbourne Water’s Enterprise Productivity Program (EPP).

Supporting teams across two portfolios, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of a complex program of work focused on improving enterprise productivity and supporting Melbourne Water’s long-term financial sustainability. You will translate strategic objectives into clear, executable plans and bring together multiple initiatives, stakeholders and delivery teams to drive progress and deliver measurable outcomes.

This is an influential role requiring strong program leadership, governance and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate a complex operational environment and maintain momentum across competing priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead program delivery by establishing and maintaining the EPP Maintenance workstream roadmap, integrated delivery plans, governance frameworks and controls to achieve agreed outcomes and benefits.
• Provide leadership and coordination across initiative owners, subject matter experts and delivery resources, creating clarity and accountability while fostering collaboration and high performance.
• Drive effective governance and assurance, proactively managing risks and issues and providing clear performance insights and recommendations to sponsors and governance forums.
• Coordinate resources, priorities and dependencies across multiple initiatives to optimise workstream performance and maintain delivery momentum.
• Lead stakeholder engagement ensuring communication and change activities support successful implementation and sustained adoption.
• Drive benefits realisation, ensuring the identification, measurement and tracking of benefits (in partnership with Finance) and ensuring outcomes transition successfully into business-as-usual ownership.

About You

You are an experienced program leader who can bring structure and clarity to complex environments, build alignment across diverse stakeholder groups, and turn strategic objectives into practical delivery plans.

You will bring:

• A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Recognised project or program management qualifications (such as MSP, PgMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, or equivalent) and/or significant practical experience delivering complex programs, projects or enterprise initiatives.
• Extensive experience leading complex, multi-project programs within a large operational or asset-intensive organisation.
• Demonstrated experience across integrated planning, governance, financial management, risk management and benefits realisation.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
• Strong capability in dependency management, delivery coordination and integrated planning.
• Advanced stakeholder engagement, facilitation and change management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across diverse business and operational groups.
• Strong understanding of benefits management, cost-benefit analysis, investment evaluation and business case assessment.
• Experience within maintenance, engineering, utilities or other industrial environments preferred, as will experience working with maintenance or asset management professions.
