The Role

This full time role is based out of our Thomson Reservoir site working in the Delivery – Works Execution team.

The Crew Member with Fire is responsible for the execution of natural resources management, civil maintenance/project works and bushfire response and preparedness activities on Melbourne Water’s Waterways and Land assets.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Experience in natural resource management, grass maintenance or civil asset maintenance/project work
  • Ability to work and contribute in a team environment to improve processes, respond to various demands and manage multiple activities simultaneously
  • Previous experience with dam operations will be highly regarded.
  • You must have the ability to meet the response times of both the fire and water operations rosters (year round responsibility).
  • You must have the ability to be able to meet the response time for the First Attack roster
  • A Heavy Rigid Driver’s license and Plant Operation tickets; backhoe and dozer license would be an advantage
  • Ability to work and contribute in a team environment to improve processes, respond to various demands and manage multiple activities simultaneously
  • Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations
  • Ability to use initiative and innovation in a range of tasks

Your ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is required together with a valid Victorian Driver’s License
