The Role
We are now hiring a Civil or Environmental Engineer to join our Statutory Flood Development Assessment Services team.
Our ideal candidate is an experienced and outcome-focused professional, who will enjoy working in a medium sized team of Statutory Referral Authority Urban Planning & Engineering experts. Together this team are tasked with making and leading best practice Flood & Drainage decisions on all types of development application referral requirements for Melbourne Water, primarily where it is the regional Drainage or Floodplain Management Authority (under the Water Act) and as set out in the Planning, Subdivision and Building Act & Regulations. This opportunity has an immediate start and is an ongoing permanent role.
This role delivers technical drainage engineering and flood modelling advice in assessing proposed developments referred to Melbourne Water in its Statutory Referral capacity. This will comprise planning, subdivision and building permit applications, as well as proposals for precinct scale urban renewal masterplans, and other types of strategic development proposals. The flood risk assessments will range across our operating area in both rural and urban locations.

Your Skills and Experience
Your ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is required together with a tertiary qualification in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
