About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Estimating & Scheduling, this fixed‑term contract (through to approximately 24 March 2027) sits within the Capital Program Management Office. As the Capital Program Risk Specialist, you will provide expert insights and information to support project and program risk identification and management across Melbourne Water’s capital portfolio.

  • Providing assistance to project teams in the identification & assessment of Project risks on Melbourne Water’s Major Projects
  • Facilitating Risk Adjusted Nominal Estimate workshops for Complex/High value projects
  • Ensuring a consistent approach in risk management on Capital Major Projects
  • Implementation of industry best practice in capital project risk management processes and procedures
  • Identifying and assessing program level risks that would impact the delivery of Melbourne Water’s Major Projects
  • Implementing appropriate controls, monitoring and continuous improvement process on risk management for Melbourne Water
  • Monitor and report risk trends, controls and management issues
  • Be involved in the tendering process, specifically for the review & challenge of the contractors’ risks

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management or a related discipline required
  • Experience in risk management, construction/ infrastructure projects, and safety related industry standards
  • Demonstrated expertise in project risk identification and assessment of large multidisciplinary programs of works and individual projects
  • Demonstrated capability in Monte Carlo based statistical cost analysis
  • Demonstrated understanding of Major Capital Project and Program risk identification and assessment
  • Working knowledge of business intelligence tools, e.g., Microsoft Power BI
