About The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Service Enablement Drainage & Flood Mitigation, this permanent full-time opportunity sits within our Catchments & Waterways team. As Senior Project Manager, you will lead the development of complex drainage, flood mitigation and waterways projects, shaping investment decisions, delivery strategies and technical solutions to achieve intended business outcomes and community benefits.

You will oversee projects from initiation through to delivery readiness, applying best-practice project management, governance, procurement and risk management methodologies to deliver safe, efficient and value-for-money outcomes. The role also provides technical leadership across strategically significant projects, driving stakeholder engagement, business case development, approvals, consultant management and delivery strategy development throughout the capital project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading project development from initiation to Ready for Tender, including business cases, approvals, permits and governance requirements.
• Ensuring projects are developed and delivered safely, efficiently and in alignment with strategic, customer and operational objectives.
• Engaging sponsors, technical experts and stakeholders to define project requirements and drive successful outcomes.
• Managing project risks, opportunities, budgets, schedules and reporting requirements.
• Providing expert engineering and stakeholder management advice across complex projects.
• Building strong relationships with regulators, local government, delivery partners and internal stakeholders.
• Coaching and mentoring team members while contributing to project management capability uplift.

About You

You are an experienced infrastructure project professional with a strong track record delivering complex capital projects in regulated environments.

You will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience managing major infrastructure projects and change programs.
• Strong expertise in capital project development, business case preparation and governance processes.
• Experience in consultant management, contract administration and stakeholder engagement.
• Proven ability to influence outcomes and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
• A current Victorian Driver Licence.
• Project management certification (AIPM, IPMA, GAPPS or equivalent) is desirable.
• Experience in drainage, flood mitigation, waterways or similar infrastructure environments will be highly regarded.
