About The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Business Transformation, this exciting 2-year fixed-term opportunity sits within Melbourne Water’s Business Transformation Office.

As Program Manager, Business Transformation, you will lead the delivery of strategic transformation initiatives that improve organisational effectiveness, enable business performance, and support Melbourne Water’s long-term objectives. Working across the organisation, you will translate strategy into action, establish effective program governance, and partner with senior stakeholders to drive meaningful and measurable outcomes.

In this role you will:

• Lead the development and delivery of transformation programs and projects, ensuring clear governance, defined success measures, effective risk management, and sustainable outcomes.
• Drive strategic business improvement initiatives that enhance organisational capability, effectiveness, and performance.
• Ensure programs remain responsive to evolving priorities, adapting systems, processes, and delivery approaches to meet changing business needs.
• Build strong partnerships across Melbourne Water to identify opportunities, foster collaboration, and support the successful delivery of transformation initiatives.
• Provide guidance and support to initiative owners, helping teams deliver against project objectives, timelines, and benefits.
• Engage and influence senior leaders and key stakeholders, balancing diverse priorities while maintaining strong working relationships.
• Monitor performance through insights, analytics, and reporting, using data to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Champion a culture of innovation, accountability, and business transformation across the organisation.

About You

You are an experienced transformation professional with a strong track record of leading complex programs and delivering sustainable business outcomes. You thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy influencing stakeholders at all levels, and are passionate about driving organisational improvement.

You will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering business transformation initiatives, programs, and projects within complex organisations.
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders to deliver transformational outcomes.
• Experience managing multi-stream programs, ensuring alignment, integration, and benefits realisation.
• Strong strategic thinking and planning capability, with experience implementing initiatives that improve organisational effectiveness.
• Excellent communication, relationship management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• A proactive and energetic approach, with the ability to lead change and achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
• A collaborative leadership style and commitment to Melbourne Water's values, customer outcomes, and continuous improvement
