The Role

We currently have multiple Civil Engineering roles within our Asset Management Services team. Based from our 990 La Trobe Street Head Office and working from home you will have an opportunity to deliver effective and efficient asset management outcomes for assets at Melbourne Water’s Sewerage Transfer Network and Treatment Plants through asset condition and reliability management.

These roles will require you to apply your own critical thinking, technical leadership, co-ordination and oversight of a complex program of technical projects in collaboration with the broader business.

The main duties will include:

  • Evaluating condition monitoring programs applied to various civil engineered assets
  • Reviewing data identifying reoccurring trends and issues
  • Lead risk based maintenance analysis (via RCM, RBM, FEMCA studies) and investigate asset issues (via RCA studies)
  • Implementing continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. updating monitoring programs via the use of new technologies)
  • Capital program/business case development

Your Skills and Experience

  • Ability to critically explore and analyse solution options, influence decision making and provide guidance
  • Knowledge and application of technical and general asset management processes/techniques (e.g. RCM, RBM, FEMCA) and condition monitoring related to large and medium scale infrastructure assets.
  • Some experience and knowledge of project planning, management and business case preparation
  • Knowledge of drainage/sewerage civil assets including gravity drains/sewers, tanks, channels, basins/lagoons and structures.
  • Coordination, prioritisation and time management skills to deliver on long-term objectives while managing day-to-day challenges within tight timeframes and work unsupervised.
  • Your ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • A Tertiary Qualification in Civil Engineering and professional engineering registration in Victoria (or actively working towards becoming registered)
