About the Role

The Eastern Treatment Plant (ETP) Operations team currently has a full-time, permanent Senior Operator role based at our ETP in Bangholme. This role reports to the Lead Operator – Day Operations and will be responsible for monitoring plant performance, ensuring a safe environment for capital and maintenance works, and overseeing plant operations to ensure compliance with Melbourne Water, legislative, and EPA requirements.

A key part of this role involves the safe isolation of assets and equipment to enable capital works and maintenance activities to proceed without risk. You will also manage priorities and enhance team performance, all while maintaining expertise in ETP processes and SCADA (PCS7) systems.

In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations, this position will play a critical role in supporting large-scale capital projects over the coming years, including involvement in complex isolations and high-voltage operations to ensure safety and compliance during major works. You will actively participate in technical workshops and contribute to planning and execution within Melbourne Water’s large-scale capital investment program, helping shape the future of our infrastructure while maintaining operational excellence.
